Arsenal stadium set to go vegan

From the 2024/25 season, Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is set to go vegan.

Arsenal will become the first side in Europe’s top 5 leagues to be completely meat free, following in the footsteps of Forest Green Rovers – the League Two team went vegan in 2017.

The move will see an overhaul of food and drink throughout the Emirates Stadium.

Popular cheeseburgers and hot dogs will be off the menu from the 2024/25 season – with meat free alternatives to be sold.

The ban on meat products will cover the general concourse and Club Level.

The only place where meat based products will continue to be served is within the executive boxes – where those paying upwards of £90,000 a season will still be able to order what they wish.

Pies, pasties , burges and pizzas will become plant based in a move that is part of KSE’s “Green Future policy”.

The Kroenke family have long been supporters of the climate movement. In 2017, they ordered their TV channel MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) to remove all bloodsports and hunting in a show of support to the meat free movement.

They are also reportedly looking into changing the name of their NFL team from LA Rams to the LA Palms in a nod to the 100,000+ palm trees that line the streets of Los Angeles County.

The one thing that will not change within the stadium is the beer – Camden Hells is already suitable for vegans.

In a statement, Arsenal spokesperson Tu Daye said “Arsenal are very proud of their rich multi-cultural fanbase and feel by removing meat based products, we will continue to be a club that promotes Football for All.”
