Gabriel Jesus shows why Arsenal are chasing him

Prior to the weekends games, Arsenal were heavily linked with Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian responded to the speculation with 4 goals against Manchester City.

If anyone was in any doubt why we are targeting the Brazilian, his performance against Watford should dampen any doubts.

His first goal was an example of positional awareness inside the box.

Whilst all those around him were moving, Jesus was fairly static. Others movement then opened the space for him for score a tap-in.

The second was a fantastic header at the fair post.

Both goals are from chances you see Arsenal carve out week in, week out. Balls into the box from the wing backs.

The third was created by Jesus.

He showed his pressing ability by closing down the Watford defender near the corner flag. Won the ball and quickly played it across the edge of the area for Rodri to stick it top bins.

The 4th was also created due to Jesus’s work rate; winning the ball deep into Watford’s half before winning and scoring the penalty.

Jesus started and finished the 5th goal. Coming deep, playing a quick one two with Kevin de Bruyne before a fantastic finish.

If we do get Jesus, we are getting a striker who has the work rate and ability to be a 20+ goal a season man.

We would still need someone else upfront, but Gabriel Jesus would be a brilliant addition to Arsenal’s front line.
