Declan Rice is an Arsenal player

Moral of the story: ignore those on social media that spread fake news for their own benefit and to raise their own profile.

These sort of accounts like to lead with a negative narrative. Not because they are privy to any news but because they feed off spreading that negativity. They are bottom feeders.

We then had West Ham accounts celebrating every bit of news that showed another clubs interest other than Arsenal.

Excited that they might get Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire or Kalvin Phillips.

Imagine being buzzing that you are selling your captain and best player in 20-years. It was all very odd behaviour.

They will now say it was โ€œjust banterโ€ and that they โ€œrattled the Arsenal fanbaseโ€. But truth is they are now crying in their parents basement.

In the end, what we predicted happened.

Arsenal were always in a strong position as Rice and his representatives let anyone know that would listen: We only want Arsenal.

It was just a case of agreeing the price.

As with all negotiations, West Ham started high (ยฃ120m upfront), Arsenal started low (deal rising for ยฃ80m). After a week or so of talks, a price was agree that both were happy with. ยฃ100m upfront with ยฃ5m add-ons.

We said from day one Rice wanted Arsenal. Arsenal wanted Rice. We told you all to ignore the noise. And said the deal would be for around ยฃ100m.

Even after the fee was agreed, some fans would still make noise, trying to seek that little bit of attention that they do not get in their real lives. This lead to a loads of conspiracy theories as to why the deal had not been announced, including that “Arsenal can not afford it”.

Once the deal was not announced before the trip to Germany, it was always going to :appen once the squad returned. And as is it turned out:

The players returned from Germany on Thursday,
Timber was announced by Friday,
We signed Declan Rice on Saturday,
We fly to the USA on Sunday,
Chilled on Monday.

We are not ITK. We are just level headed fans who filter out the crap and make our own sensible judgements.

My advice to anyone that lost it during this sage:

1. Understand where the noise is coming from
2. Filter out those that are clearly posting for clout
3. Understand how the negotiations work
4. Come to your own conclusion

Declan Rice of Arsenal and England.

Couldn`t give a fuck about some narcissistic little attention seekers online. Just buzzing that we`ve signed a player of such quality. He`s costing a chunk of dough but you`ve got to pay for the best. There`s very little risk in signing a player like him, think he`ll go onto become an Arsenal legend. Big Sol was probably the last signing that was such a certainty to work out.
Now we`ve just got to find the right balance during pre season and hopefully hit the traps early in the league. We`ve lost a very good player in Xhaka and it looks like Partey might be off as well. 2 big players to lose so it might take a bit of time for things to gel but I`ve got no doubt Rice will step us up a level. I`d have liked to see him and Partey alongside each other but I`ve got full trust in Arteta.
    Up The Arse.
