Whilst Arsenal donated £100,000 in free meals, Tottenham were CHARGING local council to use stadium as food bank

August 12, 2020 6:19 pm

A lot was written over Arsenal making 55 members of staff redundant.

That news took up many more column inches than Arsenal donating over £100,000 in free meals during the lockdown.

More than was written about Arsenal paying staff to work in food banks rather than furlough them.

And even more than was written about Arsenal staff and players calling round vulnerable fans checking on their well being.

Meanwhile over at Tottenham…

  1. we’re not really in a position to criticise after making the redundancies at the same time as bringing in players. you have to wonder what planet these owners live in.

    1. No, we are. Redundancies happen all the time. Charging the local council for using the stadium for which not only the local council but the wider London authorities have contributed, at a time of greatest societal need is just despicable. Still their PR is so good that this story is hidden away while all we hear about Is how heartless Arsenal are. Makes you think….
