Chelsea’s “depleted” squad cost £160m more than Arsenal as Hale End Boys trounce Cobham Chavs 6 to 2

Morning all. Happy Friday and another week closer to retirement.

I can not be the only one that hates Bank Holiday Mondays? You end up doing 5 days work in 4 days and by the time the Friday rolls along you are more tired than you normally will be.

We should start a petition to change Bank Holiday Mondays to Bank Holiday Fridays. It would have much less impact on the working week.

I have seen some try to write our victory off against Chelsea as only happening due to them having players out.

Chelsea lined up with Mendy, James, Azpilicueta, Kante, Alonso, Mount and Lukaku. All 7 of whom have made up Chelsea’s strongest XI for much of the season. So they were only really missing 4 (Silva, Rudiger, Jorginho, Havertz).

Arsenal were without Tomiyasu, Tierney, Partey and Lacazette. Also 4 first team players.

The average age of Arsenal’s XI was 24.5 years against Chelsea’s 27.4.

That starting XI cost Arsenal around £183 million. Chelsea’s cost them £231m. Arsenal’s entire match day squad cost £160million less than Chelsea’s, and contained 6 Hale End lads. Chelsea had just the two from Cobham.

So let’s put some respect on the victory.

Chelsea’s team was more experienced, and cost a lot more than Arsenal’s. And we danced away from Stamford Bridge with a 4-2 victory.

Up the Arsenal.
