Strongest Arsenal XI demolish Chelsea

Morning.

We won 4-0 in the early hours of this morning over in America against Chelsea.

The team put out by Arteta will probably be that which starts against Crystal Palace in under two weeks time.

With Tomiyasu and Tierney still out, I imagine it will be White and Zinchenko at full back – although Cedric is still in with a shout.

When you look at the team that played last night, there is a lot to get excited about.

A defence that could be together for the next 5 or 6 years. A midfield of experience. And one of the most exciting young forward lines in Europe.

It also was not exactly a Chelsea B team that we faced.

Mendy, James, Silva, Jorginho, Mount, Sterling, Havertz and Werner will all be regular starters for them this season.

The likes of Pulisic, Kovacic and Azpilicueta also all came off the bench at half time and Al played 45 minutes.

It was pretty much their A team against our A team. So to win 4-0, even though it was pre-season, is a hugely positive result.

With 2 weeks till the season starts and 5 weeks left on the transfer window, I would expect the Chelsea team to change a bit. To get stronger. Meanwhile I would be surprised if we sign anyone else.

Marquinhos looks a player and could resolve our wide issue.

We still look one short on the wings if Pepe goes, but the young Brazilian could end up “doing a Martinelli” and ending up being fast tracked into the first team squad.

He is quick, strong, has a low centre of gravity and a hell of a left foot. It is no surprise the club were not too upset to see Omari Hutchinson leave for this morning opponents.

Enjoy your Sunday.
