Nothing to fear from Wigan

It’s only bloody Wigan.

OK, I might be setting myself up for a fall here, but are we really so worried about playing Wigan? They are a Championship side with Championship players. We are 4th in the Premier League.

Put another way, had we just drawn them in the League Cup, we would be expecting us to put out our reserve side, and still get a victory. So despite us having up to 11 injuries, we should still have the players on the pitch to combat whatever they have to throw at us.

A potential line up of Fabianski, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Kallstrom, Gnabry, Giroud, Cazorla should be more than enough. A side littered with international’s. A side littered with quality. And what do Wigan have? Not much.

Yes, we might be in a spot of poor form, with just 2 wins in 9 games, but Wigan’s form is not much better. 2 wins in 6. They will also have one eye on ensuring a play off place and a return to the Premier League.

Wigan should be no problem. I do not understand the fear that is being generated with Arsenal fans. It’s only Wigan. Yes, if we were playing them at rugby, I would be concerned, but we are not, it’s football. This is our game.

Arsenal fans are deeply scared with the history of cup defeats. This is the fear which is in the fans mind this weekend. From Cardiff to Walsall, Ipswich to West Ham, Luton to Wrexham, Bradford to Blackburn, we are littered with being giant killed.

But this is Wigan. The odds dictate that, in a one off game, we will lose eventually. Before the Blackburn defeat, we had never lost under Arsene Wenger to a team in a league below us. Odds dictated that the run would end eventually, and it did. The odds are now in our favour. Wigan should not be a problem.

Tomorrow, wake up with a smile on your face. Do a few star jumps to get the blood circulating. Get down the boozer of your choice. Have a couple of bevies. Get yourself down Wembley and cheer the team to victory.

The “FEAR” (as you would call it)
    IS… Arsenal not turning up!

Don’t forget that, Wigan are the holder’s,
They won it and we’re relegated, last year.

Who’s to say that, they cannot win it again
and get promoted by the playoffs?

    Destiny is unavoidable!

DON’T FORGET WHAT THE LAST TWO CHAMPIONSHIP CLUBS DID TO ARSENAL IN THE CUP MATCHES, ALSO WIGAN BEAT MAN:CITY,TO GET IN THE SEMI FINAL,ARSENAL COULDN’T BEAT CITY. IF IT WAS WENGERS JOB AT STAKE,I HOPE WIGAN BEATS US,
AND THEN WE CAN START A NEW SEASON,WITH A NEW MANAGER “,ROBERTO MARTINEZ ” WOULD DO NICELY. UP THE GUNNERS ,OUT WITH WENGER,THE SOONER
    THE BETTER.

The issue is two-fold, firstly these players have gone missing at big moments in this season. There have been times we have been so poor in the basics that it’s hard to believe this is a Wenger side. Secondly Wigan are holders have beat city already and beat Everton city and others on way to lift cup last season. You are right though if on tune and start right we should come through this tie and head into a final, however our form is poor and confidence low and the pressure will be high as it’s our only realistic chance of silverware this season. All these points may make players choke on the day, I hope not and will hope that instead of talking about a positive reaction on twitter they walk the walk and produce the kind of football we. Know they can do. For me I have had a little bet on a 3-0 win to us and cazorla to score first nice odds. COYG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’

For me I would do something unexpected if injuries permit, I would put Gibbs on left with Monreal at left back, I would put bellerin on right with Sagna behind him, bellerin delivers a better final ball than sagna. Up front start with sanogo who has a bit more pace than giroud play kallstrom and chamberlain in centre with Ramsey on bench. We have lacked pace and players who get behind defences playing bellerin and Gibbs like this would give us that ability both have pace and can deliver a final ball they also can cover better defensively than cazorla,or podolski.

    WHAT IS FOOLISHNESS?
    1. Foolishness is when you propose 40+1 million pounds on Suarez and spend 42m pounds on Ozil
    2. Foolishness is when you are top of the Epl at one point and by April, you are struggling
    for top four
    3. Foolishness is when you have four injured midfielders out in January and you ended up signing an injured Replacement called kim Kallstrom….
    4. Foolishness is when you continue to pay a player who has been injured for two seasons . Is he Messi? (Abou Diaby).
    5. Foolishness is when you lose 6nil to a coach that had earlier labeled you a ‘specialist in failure’
    6. Foolishness is when you say ‘ Top Four is a Trophy for a beloved club.
    7. Foolishness is when a coach depends on two disables (Giroud and Sanogo) as top strikers for honours.
    8. Foolishness is when board decides to give a man who has won nothing in 9yrs a new contract.
    9. Foolishness is when fans of a London club pay the highest match ticket in the Epl but live on the illusion of ‘ “Next Season We Will Get It

    Proverbs 28:26
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.

Prayer point- Lord deliver Arsene Wenger and Arsenal from foolishness.

The fear comes form the fact that we have all seen Arsenal have it within themselves to find a way of fucking it up……..of course we shouldn’t all want that to happen but we know its there and a possibility……… I suppose everyone is feeling the pressure of the fact that its the easiest opportunity to get a monkey off our backs.
I agree with the rallying calls from all round and as hard as it is we need to view this game in the singular (an opportunity to achieve silverware) and not what it can do to or how it can reflect on our whole season…. there is nothing we as fans can do but cheer the team on from your seat/pub car radio etc, and hope for the best, those seasoned ones will prepare for the worst too.
so red T-shirts and yellow ribbons out guys…do you bit!!!
