Well before I start..HAPPY NEW SEASON, let’s hope Wenger spends a bit more money on the defence and we could be in with a shout this season.
1) Pulis has left Palace, not an ideal start for any team, especially one that will have to punch above it’s weight to stay up this season. Pulis completely turned around Palace last season, they were everyone’s favorites to go down and he steered them upto 11th.
2) Koscielny look’s likely to be fit, it will be nice to have one fit CB on the pitch.
3) Chambers has looked ok in pre-season, CB is our only weak position today.
4) Diaby maybe fit, but luckily so is everyone else bar the German’s and Theo so he shouldn’t get on the pitch .
5) Captain Arteta will get to try his new super Def Mid role where he doesn’t run about too much, breaks up play and just gives the ball to Jack and Aaron.
6) We beat Palace home and away last season 2-0.
7) We haven’t won any of our last 4 opening weekend games, Palace haven’t won any of the last 5.
8) Alexis will be the star attraction today, but Campbell, Ox and Sanogo will all be hoping to get on the pitch and make an impression today.
9) Giroud’s goal Vs City shows with a bit of competition for places amazing things can happen.
10) Wenger Knows, what a difference a year makes….

All good points. I expect to see Cazorla instead of Ox – nice to see he’s scoring again with 2 goals in 2 games. Cazorla has such talent, but he needs to deliver more end product this season, or at the very least create the chances for Theo/Giroud/Sanchez/Sanogo/etc to score.

I will start with Sanogo and see what he can do. If the score remains leveled till 70 minutes, I will bring Giroud on. The idea is to keep L’Oreal fit for Besiktas away which is a more important game. Also, I fear we will have to go through the first 3-4 games without Ze Germans. Hope others will step up and be counted. My prediction: 4-1 to the Gunners. Sanchez, Ramsey and Sanogo to score. Sad that we’ll concede a goal from a set piece (mostly corner).

Getting a decent lead then save some legs for tuesday has to be our aim.
I too think it will be santi instead of the ox. But have to disagree about the comment regarding cb. Chambers is not a weak link, he is an absolute awesome signing in fact of our 4 he has been far the most impressive.
If ormonde-ottewill can step up to the plate this season, we will have a future 19 year old defence of bellerin chambers hayden ormonde-ottewill 3 of which are english.

all valid points lads…altho i think OX would give us pace, guess we will see if Wenger agrees later, even if both ox and santi will figure today at some point. CB we currently only have 3, we need atleast 4 really.
