Spurs fans really are deluded mugs

So yesterday I wrote a blog about how Spurs are going to celebrate finishing above Arsenal like they had won a trophy. As expected, the deluge of comments coming in proves just how muggish their fans are.

Rather than respond to each comment individually, I thought it would be good to highlight their muggy comments to the world:

So Bitter already before the season is over and a true Gooner he is that….living in the past.

Me !….happy with what Poch has done for the team and the style we play and the progression, really dont give a sh*t about them up the road but clearly all you gooner fans worry about is finishing above us!

Living in the past? 2 FA Cups in the last 3 years. It is not exactly the distant past is it? Or should we not even go that far back. Tell you what, last day of the season, you are above us. Well done. But the day after, Monday 22nd May, it is then the past. The season is done. You can not mention it. Deal?

As spurs were in the title race last season and this one and arsenal look like they could finish 6th of course there is a shift in power, as for arsenal winning the cup, they have a chance the same as the other teams left but to be honest they look like the weakest team still there

Well done for winning the “In the title race but ultimately did not win it” trophy for the last two seasons. And being 7 points behind the leaders with 8 games to go, it isn’t really in the title race is it.

Some pathetic Arsenal fan created a day to celebrate ending above Tottenham. This was wonderfully the moment they ceased being a threat and became a complete laughing stock to every other club. Everyone now realised their fans had no ambition or expectations beyond ending above Tottenham. The morons celebrated like they had won the trophy they drop out of in the last 16 every year. Then when they think the day that ruined them as a serious club is not going to happen they turn the focus on Tottenham. Hilarious mate. We gave bigger fish to fry thankfully than obsessing about our neighbours. Advice – we are a tiny little club not worth worrying about. You are a massive club bigger than us in ever way. Hahahahaha

What bigger fish to fry? Are Spurs entering the World Cup? Maybe they can play Chicago fire in the Final? You are a massive club bigger than us in ever way – at least you said something right…

Happy Spurs Fan

What matters is now. Not the past, not the future…now. This is pathetically defensive and the season is not even over. Anyway, ‘power shifts’ and past trophy counts are for 12 year olds and Liverpool fans. Good luck for the rest of the season. COYS

Trophy counts are for 12 year olds? So trophies and winning them are ultimately pointless? Guess you would say that when you have won nothing of note for a quarter of a century. It we are not in football with the ultimate aim of winning trophies, what is the point of it?

Judas

Except Woolwich knows that it IS a shift in power.

What do you mean by Woolwich?

We have already seen the difference between the 2 sets of fans Gooners fight with each other while spurs fans stay united. Anyway Spurs finishing above Le arse is not important trying to win the league is. Get over your obsession and get used to looking up at us.

I actually agree with you. Arsenal fans have been embarrassing recently. Spurs are united – for now – but after two decades of booing your side off at half time the attitude had to change.

And yes, it is about winning the league, that is why I am baffled that Spurs fans are going to celebrate not winning the league for the 56th season in a row like they have won the league.

londonessexhottubs

We have overtaken you. You are getting scared!

It is a bit like when Lewis Hamilton get’s overtaken by a Skoda. It is just a temporary blip.

Alan

Hahaha – I seem to recall Arsenal fans celebrating as if they won the champions league when you finished above us last year. The very fact that you are ‘resigned to the fact’ that we will finish above you implies that you are devestated about it. Which shows how pathetic you are.

We’re hoping to win the title and the fa cup. That’s our ambition this year. You’re just hoping to finish 4th.

I hope to one day get a soppy tit wank from Kelly Brook. We can all dream of winning the double. That reminds me, Arsenal have won more league and cup doubles than Spurs have league titles. You are 7 points behind the leaders. Keep dreaming. Your eyes have seen the glory. In your dreams.

Dwayne officer

The fact you’re writing this article shows how low you lot in Islington have fallen.

We couldn’t give a hoot if we finish above Arsenal, fact is we are now a more desirable club and have a trajectory way above where you guys are heading.

Please focus on those around you like Everton and west brom.

Everton – a more successful club than Spurs.

Whether above or below the truth is our biggest gate is 1,000 apprx bigger than yours in the old 1st Div, We filled Wembley four times with ticket sales in excess of 80,000 at roughly four times the price your small club charged for the game against Fiorentina, in which Batistuta made Adams and Seamen look like amateurs, we have been in Europe less times than you but have won more. your overwhelming sense of self importance stems from the fact that you have been more successful than us during the Prem. Lge years, this of course is undeniable, more successful yes bigger in your tiny dreams little man.

Oh and in all those years of being behind you we have never had fans fighting each other in and outside the ground with exposure in the media proving what small time charlies you really are. Back to the nomad franchise club you are, where will you go next.

So embarrassed you couldn’t leave your name? Well done for winning the “biggest Gate” trophy. And you are boasting about selling tickets at “4 times the price”. Well done for being happy at having MORE EXPENSIVE TICKETS. Arsenal rented Wembley 20 years ago.

And you are boasting about that Fiorentina game. Remind me again, how did Spurs do playing at Wembley this season?

Guess when your side has won nothing relevant for over a quarter of a century, you have to cling to something.

You talk as if Arsenal have only been more successful in the Premier League era. Arsenal had 10 league titles before the Premier League era. Spurs have 2.

Arsenal won 3 league titles between 1961 and 1992, Spurs have two in their history. No matter which way you look it at, Spurs have been dominated by Arsenal for a century.

Success cannot be denied, most of it came as we were trying to pull ourselves out of debt caused by board decisions.

The biggest gate was to demonstrate the bigger support we have over your club, and yet you resort to what once was and not what now is.

I will not go into the firsts and records held by my club but suffice to say they are great achievements, but I don’t live in the past but look to the future.

We have always been the better supported club, throughout the 60’s and 80’s and many years previous to that your stupid shadow was cast in the opposite direction.

So Spurs were in debt in the 70s, 80s, 90s & 00s? Every decade Arsenal won a league title in since Spurs last in 1960. What a badly run club…And back in debt you go with your £800m stadium

Yid army123

Just face it we are on the and have been for a couple of years now while arseinhole have been on a steady decline fact bie bie face the truth lmfao

We have been on decline, yet won 2 FA Cups in 3 years. You are on the way up, but have not won anything of note in a quarter of a century…

Watco66

How many of them were before even black n white u fucking retard. Get a life you cunt or better still join your make believe fat mate on the pull. Melt

Bit hilarious, mocking Arsenal for winning titles in black and white when we have won 5 league titles since your last one.

Why do Spurs fans “Want Arsene Wenger to stay”?

“We want you to stay, we want you to staaaaay, Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay”

It is one song that seems to get Arsenal fans frothing at the month. It is essentially our opponents mocking us, saying that they want Arsene Wenger to stay at Arsenal, because whilst he is at Arsenal, there will be no league titles, no victories in big games. And to some extent, they are right.

Arsenal have now gone 13 years without a league title, and our record against sides in the top 6 in recent years – especially away from home – has been atrocious.

Since last winning the title, Arsenal have beaten Chelsea just 5 times in 29 competitive games, the blues winning 4 league titles and a European Cup in that time. No wonder they want Arsene Wenger to stay.

In that same period, Arsenal have met Manchester United 32 times. Arsenal winning just 7 of the meetings. 5 league titles in the cabinet for United, and another European Cup. They must love Wenger.

New kids on the block Manchester City only beat Arsenal twice between 28th Dec 1991 and 2nd Feb 2008. In the 19 games since then, City have suffered just 5 defeats. 2 league titles. Another club who are clearly justified in wanting Arsene Wenger to stay.

But then things become a bit confusing.

On the TV on Sunday, between the Millwall songs, all you could hear at White Hart Lane was anti-Arsenal songs

“We want you to stay, we want you to staaaaay, Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay”

In 21 years of Arsene Wenger being at Arsenal, Spurs have:

  • Failed to finish above Arsenal
  • Hired 10 managers
  • Fired 9 managers
  • Beaten Arsenal 6 times in the league

That is 6 Spurs Premier League victories in 41 games when Arsene Wenger has been manager. In all competition that increases to 7 wins from 51 games.

Never in the history of the game have Arsenal dominated Spurs for such a long period. I would be surprised if there are too many city rivals (Barcelona/Espanyol & Juventus/Turin are the only ones which spring to mind) that have been so one sided over the last quarter of a century when both teams of remained in the top tier for the majority of that time.

So Spurs fans are calling for a man who has had them by the throat for 21 years, holding them under water, drowning them, to stay at the club. Maybe they are suffering from Stockholm syndrome?

This is a man who lead Arsenal to win the title at White Hart Lane. A man who has over seen more league titles in 21 years than Spurs have had in their history. It just does not add up.

Of course, some will point to progression being the main reason they want Wenger to stay.

Since Mauricio Pochettino took over, Spurs have finished 6th, 5th and 3rd. They as a club have moved forward. Meanwhile in the same 3 years, Arsenal have gone backwards. Regressed.

The reality is a little bit different. Yes under Pochettino Spurs have gone forwards as a club. But they have still finished below Arsenal in every single season. And in every single season, Arsenal’s league position has also improved.

So Spurs fans want Wenger to stay as Arsenal are regressing whilst they are moving forward. OK then.

Since Pochettino took over, he has failed to win a single trophy. This season is the 1st season he has lead Spurs beyond the 5th round of the FA Cup. He has been knocked out at the 3rd round as many times as he has led them to the QF. 0 trophies in 3 years. But it is OK, they are progressing.

In the same time, Arsenal have 2 FA Cups. So Spurs fans, without a trophy to their name since 2008, are laughing at a manager who has won 2 trophies in 3 years. Odd bunch.

The final laughable moment is Spurs fans making jokes about Arsenals Champions League record.

Continually being knocked out of the 1st knockout stage for the last however many years is infuriating. Is embarrassing. But Spurs have played in the Champions League just twice, and this season were knocked out of two European competitions before Arsenal had been knocked out of the Champions League.

This season might be the year they finally finish above an Arsenal team managed by Arsene Wenger. 1 in 22 years. And how they will celebrate. It would be like 21 years of dominance, league titles, FA Cups, unbeaten seasons, winning the league on their ground, did not happen.

I have used this analogy before. They are your mate who never gets a shag. Strikes out every time you go out. Meanwhile you more often than not bring someone back. A pull at the minimum. But tonight he has pulled whilst you have gone home alone. The next day he is full of boasting. He is a playa. The Alpha male. When the reality is he is still a spotty overweight loser who just went home with a land whale.

I am not happy with Arsenal Football Club at the moment, but Spurs fans wanting a man to stay who has towered over them for nearly a quarter of a century is simply laughable.

What odds for Spurs to finally finish above Arsenal, but for Arsenal to be lifting the FA Cup in May?

Progression the new top 4?

Is progression the new top 4

With this weekend being an FA Cup weekend, I thought I would try and put together a debate that I have been having recently with some mates.

I asked a few weeks ago to people “finish 4th and win the FA Cup, would you be happy with that? Would that make this season a success?”. The answer emphatically came back. NO.

When I asked them to expand their reasoning, one word continually popper up. PROGRESSION.

Over the last 10 years, and during our 8 year trophy drought, these guys were thirsty for a trophy. They became angry any time someone (Wenger) said something like “top 4 is a trophy”. Every time we were knocked out of a cup competition fielding a weakened side so as to rest players for the league (despite us having no chance of winning the league) they would call for Arsene Wenger’s head.

Trophies are king. Honours lists do not have top 4 on them. And I agreed.

Manchester United have won 2 trophies in 2 years. They did not finish to p4 last year, are struggling to do so this year, but history will not show the latter, they will show 2 trophies in 2 years.

So why has this attitude changed? Why is winning the FA Cup no longer seen as a successful season? And ultimately, what is progression?

When I asked them what is progression, they all listed various factors:

  • Challenging for the title
  • Beating top sides away
  • Getting past the Last 16 of the Champions League
  • Not making the same mistakes year after year

I understood the points they were making. That Arsenal have not challenged for a title in years. Have an awful recent record in big away games. The Last 16 record is a joke. And the predictable continual mistakes are frustrating.

c4ydpsiwaaeowt1

It feels like Arsenal as a club have not gone forward over the last 5 years. We are already double figures behind Chelsea and out of the Champions League. There has been no progression at the club in that time.

But then there has been 2 FA Cups. 2 trophies. 2 pieces of silverware. Surely that is more important than progression?

Let’s create a scenario:

  • Arsenal finish 2nd, 1 point behind the Champions
  • Arsenal beat big sides away – Chelsea, Man U & Man C – but lose away to all 3 relegated sides
  • Arsenal get knocked out of the Champions League semi finals

That is what my mates called for, that is the progression they demanded, but ultimately Arsenal ended up trophyless. Nothing to show for their efforts. No finals, not even a semi final trip to Wembley. A trophyless season where we progressed. Would you be happy with that?

Some will say yes, but I am in the no camp. Football is all about trophies. Not top 4 finishes, not showing progression.

I am sure the likes of Birmingham and Portsmouth would rather have won the trophies they did, and be in their current positions, than be a stable Premier League side like WBA or Stoke, but winning no trophies. The trophies are what is remembered, they are what go’s down in the record books.

Like top 4 finishes, progression that does not end in a trophy is pointless. No one will care about it in 20 years time.

Do you really think Man U will care about finishing 6th when they have League Cup already in the cabinet – making them the most successful side in the English game; overtaking Liverpool.

That expands my thinking further.

Finish above Spurs but without a trophy, or finish below them with a trophy?

Now I love this run we have going against that lot above the road. But what do we get for it? No cups, no silverware, just an ability to say it has been 22 years without them finishing above us. But if they finish above us, and we win the FA Cup, who has really had the better season? The side having a parade around North London for finishing above their rivals, or the side having a parade around North London because they won a trophy.

I see progression as the new Top 4. Only this time rather than those who back Wenger saying it is important, those who do not back him are the ones holding it in high esteem.

Essentially, winning a trophy trumps progression. Give me the FA Cup over finishing 2nd in the league any day of the week.

Tomorrow is the most important game of the season. Win the FA Cup and I do not care if we fail to win another Premier League game this season.

Stick your progress up your arse, it is all about the trophies.
