Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal TONIGHT

Or that would be the headline if anyone at Arsenal actually cared about the future of Arsenal Football Club.

Putting the result to one side for a second, it is an absolute disgrace that not a single member of the Arsenal board felt the need to make the trip down to Brighton to watch The Arsenal play.

In the past, board members have claimed to be the custodians of the club. Owning and running it on behalf of the fans. That is clearly no longer the case.

Back in the day, the likes of Danny Fizsman and David Dein would be seen at every game, Home and Away, over land and sea. They would even be seen at most reserve games and even some ladies matches.

So here was The Arsenal senior team, playing in the top division of England, a side in crisis, and every senior member of the club stayed away.

No Stan or Josh Kroenke (although this is not a surprise), no Ivan Gazidis, no Sir Chip Keswick or Lord Harris of Peckham. No senior Arsenal employee, or so called custodian at the game.

And that is the reason why Arsene Wenger is still in a job tonight.

If the board had anything about them, if they had any of love for the club, Wenger would be gone tonight.

You can not expect Wenger to walk away on his own accord. He is an employee of the club, on £10m a year. Why would you walk away from that? Even if he is already a rich man, he wants to be even richer. He will still until he is sacked. Until he gets his contract paid in full. He won’t walk.

That leaves it to the board. The absent board. People who are more interested in their own pay cheque (Gazidis) or sipping whiskey and smoking cigars in their old boys club (Keswick and Harris). They are just as culpable for the situation Arsenal are in as the manager.

4 defeats in a row; 8 defeats in 2018. It is March.

Any other club would be sacking the manager on the way home. But not Arsenal, not with our board that does not really care.

They will hide behind the Europa League. Behind AC Milan on Thursday. A game they will probably not even be at (unless their wives want to go shopping in Milan).

You could argue that as Raul Sanllehi has only just begun his job as Head of Football Relations, that it would be down to him to sack Wenger. And that he is 2 weeks into the job and should be given time.

But this would just represent more passing of the buck from the gutless board. That they have done nothing previously when it was their job, and have taken at least 5 years to get a serious football man above Arsene Wenger. Now they will hide behind this man so that they do not have to make a decision.

Arsenal are broke. The manager needs to go, we are performing poorly on the pitch and off the pitch.

Wenger is only part of the problem. The absent board members have a lot to answer for – and will refuse to answer anything.

Wenger Out.

Beast from the East blows away Arsenal break

Sometimes you just want to get away from it all, and after the back to back defeats against Manchester City, I thought to myself at least I can forgot about football for a week.

Yesterday I was due to visit family in the Midlands, before spending the weekend at my company awards do and black tie dinner. A perfect escape from all things Arsenal. And then the Beast from the East and Storm Emma hit the UK.

Visiting family went very quickly out the window, and at 10am yesterday the email came through the works conference was postponed. A waste of a days annual leave yesterday sitting at home watching Jeremy Kyle, and a busy weekend cancelled.

I had already sold my Brighton brief, but it means rather than a long weekend of getting away from it all, I am sat thinking about football. About Arsenal.

Everything Arsenal is just crap at the minute. I could use worse language but then the blog would get blocked by NewsNow. Fuck it. Arsenal are shit.

Since the turn of the year, the results have just been shocking:

P 13 W 4 D 2 L 7

7 defeats in 2017. It is the 2nd of March. On the pitch, it is just not good enough.

And off the pitch it is not much better.

The latest round TV games were announced. More Arsenal games moved. Resulting in a situation where we do not have a single away game at 3pm on a Saturday this season.

I am getting fed up of football. Not just due to the results on the field but due to how fans are mistreated off the pitch.

To not have had a single away game at 3pm on a Saturday is nothing short of a disgrace. And then Sky Sport have the audacity to celebrate and boast about their new TV deal. More games on TV. More on a Friday night. Less at 3pm Saturday.

Football without fans is nothing. As we saw against Manchester City, when the fans start to stay away, the game starts to crumble. Match going fans are what is important, not those watching on TV across the globe.

It is all just a little shit at the moment.

In the last week, Arsenal announced their half year financials. As always, the brilliant Swiss Ramble puts it into layman terms that even an idiot like me can understand. This is well worth a read:

What stands out, and what I have bashed on about for so long, is how bad our commercial deals are. We all want Wenger Out, but that only solves half of the problem. Until we close the £100m a year gap in commercial income that our competitors have above us, we will always struggle to compete.

The new shirt deal is a step forward, but once again it is a house deal. It is not as big as the club will make out. The sleeve deal could be important, but it is still not enough. We are £100m short. That is a couple of top players a season. And that is what we always seem to be short.

Onto a final though, serial scammer Hussayn Hirani was jailed for nearly 3 years yesterday. I know many of those reading this would have been scammed by him. Good to see the ugly scumbag get the punishment he deserves. Hopefully he gets more of what he deserves in jail.

Tomorrow is Brighton. Up the Arsenal.

Arsenal fraudster jailed

A fraudster who made thousands of pounds selling Arsenal tickets he did not have on social media has been jailed for two years and 11 months.

Hussayn Hirani, 24, (30.9.1993) of Eagle Drive, Colindale, pleaded guilty to 28 counts of fraud by false representation at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday, 1 March.

The offences were committed between August 2016 and October 2017. Hirani would take images of real football tickets posted by others on social media, and advertise them for sale online.

Once sold, victims would be asked to make payment into bank accounts belonging to friends and associates of Hirani. The cash would be then be withdrawn at a later date and handed back to him.

No tickets were ever sent to the buyers. Hirani was originally charged with three counts of fraud by false representation, but as the result of a lengthy investigation carried out by the Met’s Fraud and Linked Crime Online (FALCON) unit and Action Fraud, 26 further charges were made.

Throughout the investigation detectives discovered Hirani also sold fake Wimbledon and concert tickets. He defrauded his victims out of more than £9,000 over the course of his offending.

Hirani was handed 25 months’ imprisonment for the offending between August 2016 and October 2017. However, he was previously arrested and convicted for the same offence in June 2016 and June 2017 and was handed a suspended sentence on both occasions.

Her Honorable Judge Dean reviewed Hirani’s previous offending and as a result handed him an additional 10 months’ imprisonment – a total of 35 months’ imprisonment.

Detective Constable Paul Allgood from FALCON said: “This was a lengthy and complex investigation, involving dozens of victims. Hirani betrayed the trust of all of these people and made a living out of lying. He arranged for the profit he made from these crimes to go into the bank accounts of his friends and associates in order to distance himself from the offending.

“FALCON and Action Fraud worked in a close partnership to bring Hirani to justice. I would strongly discourage members of the public from allowing anyone to access or use their bank accounts. You should never disclose personal bank details unless for a legitimate purpose, to an authorised individual or organisation. I would also encourage the public to take extra care when purchasing goods through social media.”
