“We are on an upward spiral in terms of confidence and they are in a negative spiral in terms of results, to [get] out of that negative spiral is extremely difficult.”
– Andre Villas-Boas, 4 March 2013

Since Arsenal lost to Tottenham 2-1 at White Hart Lane on the 3rd of March. A lot has happened;

  • Arsenal overturned a 7 point deficit to overhaul Spurs for the final Champions League spot
  • Gareth Bale, goal scorer that day, left Spurs
  • Arsenal signed Mesut Ozil

Since that day, Arsenal’s record reads P 18 W 15 D 2 L 1

Marseille 1-2 Arsenal
Sunderland 1-3 Arsenal
Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham
Arsenal 2-0 Fenerbahce
Fulham 1-3 Arsenal
Fenerbahce 0-3 Arsenal
Arsenal 1-3 Aston Villa
Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal 4-1 Wigan
QPR 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal 1-1 Man Utd
Fulham 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal 0-0 Everton
Arsenal 3-1 Norwich
West Brom 1-2 Arsenal
Arsenal 4-1 Reading
Swansea 0-2 Arsenal
Bayern Munich 0-2 Arsenal

The only blot on that copy book is the Aston Villa defeat. What is certain is the form over the last 18 games is the form of a top, top team. The form of potential Champions. It is about time we get the credit, the respect, we deserve. No just from opposing fans and the media. But from ourselves. Let us start believing in ourselves. We have a very special set of players. Let us start believing in them.

Be the twelfth man.

The one thing NOBODY is saying…

Injury problems and a smaller squad have helped us because the players have developed an understanding. Have a look at what the pundits are saying about Chelsea’s constant changes.

    Villas-Boas, what a chump!
I live in the North and only got to one of those matches. Guess which one. Yes, the only defeat.
    Come on you Gunners.

Anyone else noticed how the disruptive and Wenger hating AST have been awfully quiet lately???
In fact their only contribution has been to make sure negotiations for Wengers contract have come to a halt. If we do lose Wenger then the proud, arrogant AST members should disband also!

We are all in it together. May be the pressure from AST finally helped Wenger to make up his mind and spend real money on Ozil. We will never know. It’s a speculation , but all kind of pressure is needed to act as checks and balance, as long as it is constructive.
This run is incredible. It is now feeding on to players mentality. Sooner they will start to believe that they are invincible. When this happens, Arsenal team will be very difficult for opponents to deal with, because Arsenal will keep on believe till the last minute of every game that we can win it. We are not for from this mental state and trophies.

They’ll start to believe they are invincible when they beat one of the Manchester clubs or Chelsea.
Those results are a stunning achievement in consistency but there are no good sides on the list (I’ve discounted BM as (a) it was the longest time ago; (b) they had already won the tie & weren’t playing at 100%)
